Sunflower Beauty, in conjunction with Elite Beauty Academy, offers a wide range of VTCT courses and short accredited courses, including microblading and micropigmentation.

All courses are classroom and salon based in Portishead (Bristol) and Banwell (North Somerset), accompanied by home study. We offer training for total beginners and experienced therapists wishing to refresh their skills.

VTCT microblading course

Level 4 Certificate in Enhancing Eyebrows with Microblading Techniques, which will give the knowledge to perform advanced eyebrow treatments using a variety of microblading techniques. We also offer a VTCT microblading conversion course.

Permanent Eyebrows Makeup in Progress

ABT microblading course

This course qualifies you for microblading, which is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure that creates an extremely natural, fuller and more defined brow, specifically tailored to each client. An artist uses a manual handheld pen-like tool to mimic natural hairs strokes.

VTCT micropigmentation course

The only VTCT accredited micropigmentation course, this course teaches semi-permanent make-up techniques, which involve the artist inserting micropigments into the top layers of the skin.

ABT microneedling course

Microneedling, also known as dermarolling, skin needling or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is a cosmetic procedure that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny, sterile needles. 

Face Complexion

ABT dermaplaning course

Dermaplaning is a non-evasive beauty treatment, which removes the fine vellus hair on the face while exfoliating the epidermis using a scalpel, leaving the skin fresh, clean and smooth.

Natural Beauty

Semi-permanent make-up courses for eyes and lips

These courses are for semi-permanent eyeliner, lipliner and lip blush. The training will give you the knowledge to perform enhanced semi-permanent treatments using a variety of techniques.

Eyelash extensions, nails and threading courses

Eyelash extensions course

Eyelash extensions are individually applied fibres of either faux mink or silk that are attached to each of your client's natural lashes to give them longer, thicker and fuller lashes that last over a month.

They can give a very natural or glamorous effect depending on your client's preference and the suitability of their natural lashes.

Nail extensions course

Nail extensions are artificial nails that are added to a client's natural nail to make it appear longer. Once the extension is securely attached and shaped, an overlay is applied. The most popular overlays are acrylic and gel. The length and shape are the client's choice. Maintenance is fortnightly. There is no damage to the natural nails if applied and removed correctly by a professional.

Gel polish course

Gel nail polish is a long-lasting, instant dry nail finish that can be applied over natural nails or extensions. The polish is usually a UV/LED product that is dried under a UV/LED lamp. It is a popular treatment. Maintenance is fortnightly and there will be no damage to the natural nail if the product is applied and removed correctly by a qualified professional.

Threading course

Threading is a method of hair removal originating from Asia. It is used predominately to shape eyebrows and remove unwanted facial hair.

It provides a precise, defined eyebrow shape and gentle removal of facial hair using thread.

There are a few different techniques for threading. These include the hand method, mouth method and neck method.

Due to the high demand for our courses, we now have two venues in the South West: our main school in Banwell and our smaller site in Portishead, Bristol.
